John Radcliffe Hospital

The John Radcliffe Hospital (JR) is Oxfordshire's main accident and emergency site. It provides acute medical and surgical services including trauma, intensive care and cardiothoracic services. It is situated in Headington, about three miles east of Oxford city centre. It is the main teaching hospital for Oxford University and Oxford Brookes University, and incorporates the Oxford University Medical School.

 

The Oxford Heart Centre  is a centre of excellence for treating people with heart disease. It is supported by an internationally renowned academic department of cardiovascular medicine and is housed in a five-storey building, along with some three-storey space within the John Radcliffe Hospital main building.
